IN MY DAYS
IN MY DAYS
What happened?Yes! What happened? What happened to the days when women were respected? The days when people got into relationships for the purpose of fostering love and the view of bringing forth children in the institution of marriage? When sex was deemed sanctified and marriage was honorable upon the bed undefiled. What happened to the days when people were loved for whom they are, not whom we think they are.Oh those days!
In my days, people fall in love for what they can gain. People "love" others for who they think they are or who they want them to be. Ladies are "loved" for their body, men... for their money. The word "love" is now used to denote "lust" and "affection" to mean "sexual gratification".
In my days, the word "love" has become trite, such that we no longer know when it is used in its literal form or when it is used to connote "I like the way your body looks in that dress" or "I like how bulky your wallet looks". It hurts, it really does to see that our norms and values have been thrown like caution into the wind and things are being taken for granted.
In my days, physical abuse is now on the rampancy. Violence and other societal ills are now the order of the day. There is no such thing as "sexual immorality" anymore; once both parties agree, it's a go-ahead. And "abuse"? It is now part of life. Oh my days!
I read an article sometime ago where a man said he sees himself as a father and his wife as a child, which gives him the right to discipline her whenever she "errs". In another writing,a lady declared that the day her husband stops beating her, she'll know that it is either he no longer loves her or that he has started cheating on her. Really? I was shocked to realize that a lot of people get carnal satisfaction from spanking too.Oh my days!
In my days, deceit, corruption, thuggery etc. have become the norm, such that people now "pray" to get government jobs as to take part in the sharing of the "national cake".Oh my days!
In my days, indecent dressing has become the best way to "prove" our beauty.Men who lack self-control have disculpated themselves from sexual abuse using this as the "perfect" excuse. Public molestation is regarded as a means for expressing masculinity or femininity. There exists no such word as "rape"; you want sex and she plays hard-to-get? You go for it! Does anyone have anything to say on Uranism? Cause I definitely lack words. Oh my days! Oh my days!
But while pondering over this, I came to the realization that it's not just about pointing accusing fingers and apportioning blames. Little wonder Mahatma Gandhi said "Be the change you want to see in the world".I want change, positive change and I'm dedicating myself to be an object of that change I desire to see in my days. If I can, you can too! Yes!!! Together we can.
Ps: It's our 6-month anniversary today! I'm excited and very grateful to everyone who has helped me get to this point.I pray for better insights and Grace to help make the world a better place.#Project BCD-Be the Change you Desire.

Again while we have our own perception of relationships and respect, it is important to remember that other people have and are rightly entitled to theirs. So if it's consensual corrective spanking...Oh well.
However lustful deceit paraded as love is not only an inevitable dead end but just plain dumb.#justmathoughts#notrolls.
