WE DIE EVERYDAY
Do you know that we are dying? Oh yes we are! We started to die everyday from the very day we became old enough to make our own choices. That day was not today; it was the day we witnessed the truth but decided to go with the lie. It was that day.
We die everyday we beat that 10-year old girl and accuse her of developing too quickly and seducing the "innocent" 38-year old man who forcefully violated her.
We die everyday we set free a man guilty of multiple atrocities and take an innocent man in his stead, simply because the guilty man is the senator's son and the innocent man "has nobody".
We die everyday we discriminate Ibrahim,Chinaza and Tope because they are not from our tribe, state and certainly not members of "our church".
We die everyday we give special attention to Emeka because he is the minister's son, and to Aisha because her father was the former governor.
We die every Sunday when we "dedicate" the front pew in church to particular persons, even if they usually arrive 30minutes to dismissal. Oh yes, that's the day we die.
We die everyday we decide to set aside money to "grease palms" rather than work hard for what we desire. The day students began to save up money for "sorting" rather than read for their examinations.
We die everyday we give away our body to persons who do not deserve it and we tag it "Relationships".
We die everyday we open our mouths and hurl vulgar, hurtful words at people simply because they are not who we want them to be.
We die everyday we loot money kept for the greater good of members of the society and term it "Sharing the National Cake".
We die everyday we put tyres around people's necks, pour petrol all over them, set them ablaze and cheer loudly while they descend to the great beyond.
We die!Oh we die, everyday of our life.
But even at this point, resuscitation is not impossible. The day we begin to speak the truth, seek justice for the wronged, discourage favoritism, fight corruption, advocate for sexual purity and desire hardwork for the greater good of our generation, then we are surely on our journey to recovery.

PS:I know I've not been consistent cause of school work and stuffs, but I'm hoping to work out as little/much time as possible to always give you something to read. Project #BCD-Be the Change you Desire
